8CountNews just sat down with the newly crowned IBF welterweight world champion ?Showtime? Shawn Porter. He just captured the title by defeating then world champ Devon Alexander. Porter executed a perfect game plan with each round. He pressed and came forward throughout the entire fight. He used his jab, and pressured the former champion. This style of fight took Alexander out of his game, and provided Porter with the opportunity to take the title. Porter did just that. The scores of 115/113 and 116/112 (twice) seemed a bit closer than what actually happened. 8CN had the fight wider than that.
Porter talks about becoming a world champion for the first time in his career. He talked about what was going through his mind as the fight got closer and closer to the end. He also talked about his dad, his mentor, the man that has been by his side from the very beginning, Kenny Porter.
