To assure themselves of undivided focus, WBO top contenders Z ‘The Dream’ Gorres and Rey ‘Boom Boom’ Bautista have started training in a resort owned by sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer in Danao City.
“We are here in Danao. Training has been fantastic,” said trainer Edito Villamor in an interview yesterday.
ALA Gym assistant trainer Edmund Villamor, in a separate interview, informed that both Gorres and Bautista will be staying in the resort for the entire duration of their Danao training.
The other fighters who will also be training at the ALA resort are Alex John Banal, Milan Milendo and Joseph Omanz.
Banal is slated to battle ex-PABA flyweight king Komrith Evereadygym in an 8-round non-title tiff on the undercard.
Meanwhile, promoter Sammy ‘Don King’ Gello-ani of SGG Sports Promotions and ABS-CBN president Gabby Lopez sealed the televisin coverage of the February 24 event with a contract signing held last Monday at the ABS-CBN headquarters in Quezon City.
Also signing the contract were ALA Gym’s Michael Aldeguer and ABS-CBN vice-president for Sports Peter Musngi.
Gorres, Bautista and Villamor were also at the contract-signing.
