Pacman plans early training!

Manny Pacquiao plans to fly to Los Angeles late this month so he could start his training for the proposed April 21 bout at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. ?We are going back to the Alamodome,? said Pacquiao when contacted by fightnews.com on Tuesday afternoon in his hometown of General Santos City. Top Rank big boss Bob Arum said the name of the (Mexican) opponent will be named soon and the reasons behind the postponement of the planned April 28 bout featuring Pacquiao and Korean Injin Chi were the lack of hotel rooms and the Filipino?s desire to run for public office on May 14. ?I know it?s going to be tough (in politics) but I am prepared,? said Pacquiao, who is eyeing either the mayoralty of his hometown or a congress seat. Still, Top Rank said the fight with Chi will happen in Sept. or Oct. Pacquiao scored the most devastating win of his career at the Alamodome in Nov. 2003 when he knocked out Marco Antonio Barrera. But once Pacquiao arrives at the Wild Card, missing will be Freddie Roach, who has been inked to train Oscar dela Hoya for two weeks for the May 5 bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Substituting for Roach is Australian conditioning coach Justin Fortune, who is Roach?s right-hand man at the Wild Card.
