On Showtime, Saturday, October 26, 2013 Live from Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City BY: Albert Alvarez Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2) vs. Karo Murat (25-1-1) for the (IBF light heavyweight title)- I am expecting for B-Hop to have his way against Murat. Murat is a tough customer but he will not be able to mentally deal with what Hopkins has in store for him. B-Hop?s style of executing may not be pretty, but his cagey approach is very effective. Unless we have 3 blind mice judging the fight,(which Hopkins will then scream out robbery) I see Hopkins beating Murat to the punch and winning the fight unanimously. Peter Quillin (29-0) vs. Gabriel Rosado (21-6) for the (WBO middleweight title)- This clash right here is a very tough fight to call for me. King Gabe has very good footwork, very similar to B-Hop?s footwork. I point that out because employing that type of footwork can cause Quillin some trouble when he launches his deadly right hook upon stepping in, that type of shot can be partially deflected off of Rosado?s left shoulder blade on the turn. Quillin will have to catch and shoot, slip the right, throw a throw away right and fire out a left hook over the top. If Quillin does this, he will find success and may end up stopping Rosado. If I am Rosado, I keep Quillin turning and do not allow for him to get his feet set. I would be studying the Hopkins/Trinidad fight. But as I mentioned, this one is too tough to call for me. I just want to see a good, fun, and entertaining scrap. May the best man win.
