Oscar De La Hoya has still not hired a trainer for his May 5 super-welterweight bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
De La Hoya is at financial odds with Floyd Mayweather Sr., who has trained him since 2001 and has rejected his request for a $2 million purse.
Floyd Mayweather Sr. said: ?It?s obvious the man is super tight. What comes first in this particular situation, greed or the fight? But he can do what he wants. I make money. Money don?t make me. I?m going on with my life.?
Wayne McCullough, a former bantamweight champion, said he would handle De La Hoya. McCullough is the trainer for the super-middleweight prospect Librado Andrade, who is being promoted by De La Hoya?s company.
