UNBEATEN youngsters Albert Pagara and Juren Labordo get the much-needed exposure that they need as they headline the second edition of ?Idol? boxing series next month.
?We are pushing through in Maasin on Nov. 15. Regarding the fighters, it will be headlined by Albert Pagara and Juren Labordo. Within a week we will finalize their opponents,? ALA Promotions vice-president Dennis Ca?ete told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday.
Pagara, who traces his roots to Maasin City, will face a Thai fighter and Labordo will take on an Indonesian fighter. Their foes will be finalized next week.
The first Idol show, staged in Escalante City, last Aug. 24 was a success. It was headlined by hometown fighter Melvin Gumban and hard-hitting Mark Bernaldez.
It unexpectedly drew a huge crowd that wanted to see Gumban in action. Gumban and Bernaldez made a huge impression by knocking out their Indonesian foes John Bajawa and Marangin Marbun.
