“Brandon’s doing terrific. I met with Robert yesterday and again today; Robert Garcia says he looks absolutely terrific,” stated Cameron Dunkin, manager of former lightweight champion Brandon Rios, who gave us an update on how training has been going as they continue to prepare for the highly-anticipated showdown with Manny Pacquiao. According to Dunkin, Rios is in phenomenal condition and has been stopping several different sparring partners in camp.
“From what I’ve seen, he looks in unbelievable shape. He’s actually been dropping people, stopping people in sparring, and he’s very hungry. He wants this fight so bad,” Dunkin explained, making it clear that Rios will still carry his power with him when he makes his debut at welterweight against Pacquiao. After suffering the devastating knockout to Marquez in his last fight, it will be interesting to see if Pacquiao’s chin will stand up to the power of Rios when the two meet inside the ring on November 23.
