LAS VEGAS-Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez bumped into each other at the dinner buffet table of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino here but the distance between them prevented anyone from saying hello, give out a smile or wink at each other.
Instead, both fighters and protagonists of the “Hearts and Fists on Fire” rumble on May 8 decided to take quiet dinners at “neutral corners” of the cavernous dining area, both being true gentlemen.
“Alam ko, nakatingin siya sa akin habang kumukuha ako ng pagkain, pero nung ako naman ang tumingin sa kanya, hindi na siya nakalingon,” said Pacquiao, who joked that he had taken more food than the Mexican. (I knew he was staring at me when I was filling my plate but when I looked at him, he was no longer staring at me.)
