C.J. Ross is the same boxing judge that awarded Timothy Bradley a victory over Manny Pacquiao. When that happened, boxing insiders and fans alike all shook their heads in disbelief. It never ceases to amaze me. What do some of these judges see?
Let’s fast forward to last night. Floyd Mayweather Jr fought rising Mexican star Canelo Alvarez. Floyd as he usually does, made his adjustments after a round or two, then took control of the fight. What’s so hard about seeing this? How is it that two out of three judges, and millions of fans see it one way, and one judge saw it completely different?
C.J. Ross should be forced to sit down in front of the commission and made to explain round by round how she came to such an asinine score. She completely butchered the Pacquiao/Bradley fight, and now she can add last night’s dismal job to her miserable resume. If the commission is smart, the next time they want to consider C.J. Ross for a world title fight, they will quickly change their mind, and actually hire someone like Julie Lederman instead.
Boxing doesn’t need incompetent judges like Ross. Fighter’s work too damn hard, and they risk their lives in that ring each time they step in there. For someone like C.J. Ross to absolutely butcher the score like she did last night, is an absolute disgrace.
I’m not trying to say that she was trying to fix the fight. All I am saying is that if she’s simply too incompetent to do her job, then she shouldn’t be allowed to do it at all. It’s an honor to be selected to judge a historical fight like Mayweather Vs. Alvarez. That honor should be treated with respect. Scoring the fight last night a draw was an absolute failure. Scoring last night’s fight a draw failed at all levels of competency.
