A couple years ago, the biggest debate in the boxing world was about who in fact really was the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Was it the slick and quick unbeaten boxing machine, Mayweather? Or was it the rapid power punching typhoon, Pacquiao? Fast forward to a sketchy loss on the cards to Timothy Bradley, and a brutal knock out at the hands of his arch rival, Juan Manuel Marquez, and just like that, Pacquiao?s name is no longer included in that never ending debate. Now, there is only one name at the top. Only one, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is ??The One!?? At 44-0, Money Mayweather seems to be unbeatable, it?s one thing to try and argue against a perfect record, and it?s another thing entirely different to argue against the reasons as to why no one has been able to beat him. For myself, Floyd is unbeaten because in the ring, he is the very best at making split second adjustments. Another reason would be because it is impossible to mentally rattle him. Floyd keeps his mind razor sharp and never loses focus. Because of this, Floyd?s body stays fresh, thus his reaction time on offense and defense stays much quicker than his opponents eyes. It is with his eyes that he begins to undress you and then he physically disarms you. Canelo (42-0-1) must eliminate the space between himself and his opponent. He must control the real estate and cut off the ring without burning off too much energy. Canelo is a murderous puncher that places his punches very well from top to bottom, and it appears that each punch thrown is fired with full force behind each shot. At the end of it all, I see Mayweather winning by unanimous decision. Unless Canelo can score a knock out, I just do not see the judges awarding Canelo the victory. Mayweather by UD.
