YOU HAVEN’T seen the last of Erik Morales.
Morales is back in San Diego, California, after spending nine days in the Philippines to shoot a commercial and chill out in an ultra-exclusive resort in Palawan with wife Andrea and long-time buddy Jorge Quezada.
The beer commercial has yet to be shown but Morales has already agreed to endorse another product and is expected to arrive in Manila sometime in February, according to a well-placed source, who was present during the filming of the San Miguel Beer advertisement at a Forbes Park location in Makati.
Nicknamed ‘El Terrible’, Morales is the lead star of the San Miguel commercial although also included in the sure-hit promotional material are Manny Pacquiao and the Filipino icon’s cornerman, American Freddie Roach.
The opening moments of the commercial, according to the source, will see Morales stepping out of an exotic sports car but only his legs will be shown as he makes his stride where Pacquiao and his pals are already having a good time.
The clincher would be a brief dialogue starring Morales, who says something in Pilipino that praises Pacquiao, who Morales engaged in an epic trilogy in Las Vegas.
“Erik had a hard time saying his Tagalog lines but never complained even if he was made to have several takes until it came out right,” said another fellow who saw the shoot.
“(The commercial will be shown) this month,” the same source added.
Morales left on Tuesday morning via Northwest Airlines, while Roach and friend Billy Keane followed yesterday morning also on board Northwest.
Morales and Roach were given R2 million-plus each as talent fee and they were given VIP treatment during their stay in the country.
