Another TV project lined up for Morales

The soon-to-be-released San Miguel Beer commercial featuring Manny Pacquiao, his trainer Freddie Roach and foe-turned-friend Erik Morales won’t be the last for the Mexican fighter.

This early, another project is being lined up for the good-looking boxer from Tijuana who, with lovely wife Andrea, stayed in the country for 10 days to do the SMB commercial and have lots of fun on the side.

This means that Morales, from now on, might be a regular visitor to the country, and a welcome feature on Philippine television. It was also reported that Morales is being lured to be part of a local TV show.

The SMB commercial will begin with Morales stepping out of an elegant Porsche, and the camera only focusing on his feet as he walks toward Pacquiao, Roach and some friends who are partying.

Morales will come in as a big surprise to Pacquiao and company. The 30-year-old Mexican, who lost twice in three fights with Pacquiao, will drop some Tagalog words to serve as the punch-line.

Then the party and the beer-drinking continues.

“Erik had a hard time saying his Tagalog lines but never complained even if he was made to have several takes until it came out right,” said someone who was privy to the shoot.

“It’s going to be a hit. With this commercial, Filipinos will really begin to love Morales. They will no longer look at him as an enemy but as a friend,” said another.

At the end of the shoot, Pacquiao gifted Morales with an “expensive” necklace with a diamond on the crucifix pendant.

Morales, according to insiders, was paid P2 million or its dollar equivalent to do the SMB commercial which is scheduled to hit the screens this weekend.

Roach received the same talent fee for the commercial shot last Thursday and Friday inside Forbes Park. It’s the latest SMB ad for Pacquiao who has a lifetime partnership contract with the beer makers.
