SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – After a short but fruitful conversation with Mr. Bob Arum of Top Rank promotions, he dispelled Edwin Valero’s statements in the Venezuelan press.
Valero claimed that Arum, along with Shelly Finkel and Oscar De La Hoya, had contacted his promoter in attempt to purchase half of the Venezuelan’s promotional rights.
Bob said it ain’t so. For the record, he stated that Mr. Honda is a great friend and Edwin is a heck of a fighter but that nothing of the sort has taken place so far.
Arum added that from what he’s seen and heard the buzz in Macau is phenomenal for the Manny Pacquiao-Injin Chi fight and he’s looking to finalize the deal within the next couple of days. He’s still not sure whether this fight will be distributed by HBO, Showtime or an independent network.
