ERIK MORALES probably will forgive but he won’t forget.
In what appeared to be a total snub, the legendary Mexican fighter ignored Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach when they found themselves on the same elevator late Tuesday night as they went up to their respective rooms at the Diamond Hotel.
Morales, who was with his wife Andrea, behaved as if Roach never existed as the elevator rose to their floors.
What was funny, according Roach, was that Morales had a conversation with the trainer’s friend Billy Keane who was on the same elevator.
“He didn’t talk to me and I was planning to say hi to him. What’s funny was that he was talking with (my friend) Billy Keane,” said Roach.
Morales and his wife are in the country for a short vacation on the invitation of a Filipino friend from San Diego, California.
“I don’t know but I heard he’s mad at me because he said I said so many bad things about him which is not true,” said Roach.
Maybe Morales is embarrassed, Roach was told by a scribe next to him.
“Maybe,” said the bespectacled cornerman, obviously thinking of what his fighter Manny Pacquiao did to him the last time they fought in Las Vegas.
“But I plan to invite him for dinner tonight (last night),” said Roach, to show that he harbored no ill feelings over the man whom Pacquiao knocked out twice.
The two will probably settle their differences as soon as the San Miguel Beer commercial starts filming where they will figure along with Pacquiao.
