Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao checked out of the Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital yesterday after his attending physicians Dra.Regina Bagsic and Dr. Nestor Bagsic gave him a clean bill of health. A couple of hours later he was sighted at the Pasay City cockpit watching the International Derby hosted by Rizal governor Casimiro Ynares and presidential assistant Jun Santiago in which he had an entry.
Pacquiao earlier told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that he was “feeling good and there was nothing to worry about. One of his close friends Rex “Wakee” Salud said Pacquiao was smiling when the doctors gave him clearance to check out of hospital.
Pacquiao was rushed to hospital with stomach pains after arriving in Manila from Davao City where he was one of the godfather at a christening on Sunday. He indicated then that his hectic schedule and failure to eat on time and properly had caused him stomach problems.
Pacquiao underwent a series of tests since this was not the first time he had to be hospitalized because of stomach pains. Pacquiao’s doctors have cautioned him to watch his diet.
Pacquiao is scheduled to shoot a television commercial for San Miguel Beer along with legendary Mexican Erik “El Terrible” Morales and celebrated trainer Freddie Roach who is scheduled to arrive early this morning from Los Angeles via a Philippine Airlines flight.
Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today learned that the commercial shoot will take place on Thursday at a location in Forbes Park although nobody in San Miguel Corporation appeared to know anything about it This came in the wake of reports that SMC was initially upset over the fact that the news was leaked to media both in the US and in Manila by Roach who innocently disclosed he was returning to the Philippines to do a commercial with Pacquiao and Morales. In fact there were attempts by some individuals handling Pacquiao’s endorsements and activities to keep the arrival of Morales and the commercial shoot secret and were even agitated when questioned about it.
