NBA -- Cavs tender Bynum two-year deal

CHICAGO -- Hobbled by knee injuries, Andrew Bynum missed the entire 2012-13 NBA season while collecting a hefty $16.8 million salary from the Philadelphia 76ers.

But the thought that Bynum could miss an extended period of time didn't hold back the Cleveland Cavaliers, who offered the 7-foot, 285-pound Bynum a two-year deal worth $12 million a year, according to Yahoo! Sports. The deal is reportedly incentive-laden with Cleveland holding the option for the second year.

A product of Saint Joseph High in New Jersey, Bynum is a one-time All-Star who averaged 20.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and two blocks per game in the 2011-12 season, his last with the Lakers before being shipped to Philadelphia in a four-team deal.

Bynum, 25, has seven years of NBA experience. He is expected to meet with two other suitors later this week -- the Dallas Mavericks and the Atlanta Hawks. (HDS)
