“I look at Adrien Broner like Danielsan and I’m Mr. Miyagi. We never seen Danielsan try and go against Mr. Miyagi. And so, you know, I’m proud of Adrien Broner’s victory. You know, there’s a lot of things he still has to learn. I mean, I think, me personally, I feel that he should’ve got the knockout,” stated undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather, who shared his thoughts on the recent performance of newly crowned WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner. While Mayweather is pleased that Broner got the victory, he believes there are still some things that the 23-year-old can improve on.
“I’ma continue to support him. He was flat-footed, and I just feel like with my career, you know, a lot of times, they try to compare the two. You know, I love the kid, but you gotta realize, just look at my career,” Mayweather explained as he began to reflect on the level of competition he faced in his early 20’s with a select group of media members at today press conference in New York. “I already fought a guy that was so crafty in Genaro Hernandez at 21 years old. I feel like in the sport of boxing now, a lot of these guys are fighting guys that’s handpicked, which I understand because this is a business also.”
