Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera gave his take on the recently finalzed fight between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) and Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs), which takes place on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Barrera says Canelo’s tender age of 22-years, and the accuracy of his punches, will play key roles in the outcome of the fight.
“The key [factors for Canelo] is his youth and the delivery of his [punches]. He must sieze the opportunity because it only comes once. I think Canelo will be favored at that weight [152-pounds] because he will recover better [the following day when he rehydrates] and that will be a good advantage for him. Floyd Mayweather has a lot more to lose [in this fight], because he stands the possibility of losing to someone who is inexperienced, instead of someone losing to the best,”
