The days are getting closer to the junior middleweight unification on April 20th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. WBC champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (41-0-1, 30KOs) faces WBA champion Austin “No Doubt” Trout (26-0, 14KOs) in a Showtime/Televisa televised main event.
Junior middleweight contender Ricardo Alvarez (20-2-3, 13KOs) expects Canelo to knock Trout out in six rounds, and in the process his will avenge their older brother Rigoberto Alvarez, who Trout decisioned in February 2011 in Guadalajara.
“Saul will knock him out by the sixth round. He is too strong and brings to the ring an impressive preparation. He is also highly motivated because he’s facing an opponent of high-quality. He will beat him and avenge Rigoberto,” Ricardo said.
Former champion Oscar “Chololo” Larios, a long-time member of Canelo’s training team, says – “Trout will never get to the ninth round. I think he will knock him out in the seventh round. He is better than Trout in every area.”
