One doesn’t even have to be a Manny Pacquiao fan to know that he single handily put boxing on his back and carried it for quite awhile. He came out of nowhere and went on to capture 8 world titles in as many weight divisions and provided the fans with some very exciting fights.

Pacquiao also put Filipino boxers on the map, and has provided more opportunities for them than one could ever have imagined. Manny conquered the boxing world, disposing legends like Morales, Barrera, De La Hoya, Cotto, all in the process. He would then get into acting, singing, and was elected to Congress in The Philippines. His life could and should be a movie one day.
Fame and success also brings some failures and hardship. Pacman made a lot of money, but he also lost some of it gambling, all the while having to deal with some of them blood sucking leeches that scurry for the crumbs that he may have dropped along the way.
He would go on and show the world that he’s only human, and made some mistakes pertaining to his marriage. He to my knowledge has asked for forgiveness and has since patched things up with his wife. Pacquiao was judged for his mistakes terribly, but not surprising, as the world is filled with big mouth hypocrites.

Pacquiao has done far more good for the world than bad. In fact, he’s done very little that can be construed as bad. Most of Pacquiao’s decisions have impacted him and those around him rather positively. In fact, Manny is so nice to people that he’s been taken advantage of. He has a hard time saying “no” to people, and that sometimes got him into some jams.
I’ve met Manny several times, and with each meeting he’s treated me with respect, and kindness. It’s been a real privilege to meet the man. He’ll go down as one of the best that’s ever put the gloves on. Sure he has his critics, but who doesn’t? Manny Pacquiao has made his mark on the sport, and he’ll be a first ballot hall of fame inductee. He’s taken the sport of boxing for a ride of a lifetime.
