APPEARING more miffed than concerned, reigning WBA-IBF featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez vowed Friday to surprise pundits when he fights Manny Pacquiao on May 8 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Marquez, who has trained away from the prying cameras of the media, said he was not going to be affected by what the “experts” are saying about his showdown with Pacquiao.
“I don’t care what people say. It is very uncomfortable that the people underestimate my work and quality as boxer,” Marquez said in an interview with the Mexican boxing writer Jesus Lopez.
