Police arrested a man suspected of shoplifting inside the convenience store owned by boxing icon Manny “The Pacman” Pacquiao in General Santos City, ABS-CBN Regional Network Group reported Tuesday.
Police identified the suspect as Richard Ortega. He allegedly stole two bottles of shampoo worth P900 each from Pacquiao’s store on Monday night.
Ortega admitted the wrongdoing and apologized to Pacquiao. He, however, complained that the boxer punched him twice on the arm.
He also said Pacquiao’s bodyguards clobbered him.
Ortega said he will not press charges against the boxer if police would release him.
