Adrien Broner TKO5 Gavin Rees
WBC lightweight world champion Adrien ?The Problem? Broner stopped a very game Gavin Rees in Round 5 moments ago at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City as seen live on HBO. The end came after a spirited fight but Rees was eventually put down with a well placed body shot that spelled the end. The fight started out quickly as Rees stormed out and shocked a lot of people putting the heat on Broner for the first two rounds. The slick American remained poised and may have been toying with his shorter foe as in the third Broner opened up and began to hurt Rees at every turn. In the fourth round a brilliant uppercut put Rees on the deck but he got up and pressed on in the face of a rugged beating. Broner remained close and took some shots to land his own and in the end his speed, strength and accuracy was too much. Rees ate a body shot in the closing moments of the fifth and was done for. The bout was officially stopped at the 2:59 mark of Round 5. With the win the flashy Broner moves to 25-0 (21 KOs) while Rees falls to 37-1-1 (19 KOs).
