Legendary Mexican trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain is very busy this days, not only is he getting featherweight world champion Juan Manuel Marquez ready for the most important fight of his career, but he’s also got veteran Melcor Cob Castro going for a world title this Saturday in Chiapas.
Castro is already in Chiapas for his rematch with Jorge “Travieso” Arce, but Beristain remained in Mexico City tending to Marquez who on Saturday, May 8 will defend his WBA and IBF world titles against Manny Pacquiao at the Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
“Melchor is ready all he has to lose is a couple of pounds for the weigh in on Friday. Marquez is in his final week of sparring and I need to stay with him this next few days. I will be in Melchor’s corner on Saturday night,” said Beristain.
