We have some great news for fight fans who believe that there is no hope of ever seeing a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. According to Roger Mayweather — Floyd’s uncle and trainer — his nephew will end up fighting Manny Pacquiao before he hangs up the gloves for good.
“The Pacquiao fight has to happen with Floyd,” Roger Mayweather said according to BoxingScene.com. “People want to see it. People don’t care whether he got knocked out. Floyd will knock him out and that’s the fight they want to see.”

Roger Mayweather even said that he believes Floyd will also end up taking a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez — the guy who put Manny Pacquiao to sleep in his last bout.
“And people still probably want to see Floyd and Marquez,” Roger pointed out. “Marquez knocked [Pacquiao] out and people still probably want to see that fight.”
Not many people would be too intrigues with Floyd Mayweather fighting Juan Manuel Marquez again. When they fought back in 2009, Floyd Mayweather completely dominated Marquez to an easy unanimous decision. It was one of the most one-sided fights you could ever imagine.
As for Manny Pacquiao, there are still some people who would love to see him fight Floyd Mayweather. However, if the two would have fought five years ago, it would have been the biggest sporting event in the world. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. We are not even sure a fight between the two would break pay per view records anymore, but it would indeed be very lucrative for both fighters.
Regardless of what Roger Mayweather says, Floyd ultimately has the last word on who he fights and when. At this point in his career, more people would like to see him fight Saul Canelo Alvarez instead of Manny Pacquiao.
