After giving his brother a cold reception on Monday, boxer Bobby Pacquiao admitted Tuesday that he has already patched things up with his elder sibling, Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.
“We talked during the party he held Monday night. We shook hands?we are now OK,” Bobby told Magandang Umaga Pilipinas.
Reports said the younger Pacquiao nursed a grudge against his brother because Manny was given more priority by their American trainer Freddie Roach.
The younger Pacquiao said he trained hard for his November 17 fight against Mexican Hector Velasquez in Las Vegas, Nevada but admitted that he had a difficult time shedding weight since his last match with American boxer Kevin Kelly.
“Like Manny, my weight was 133 pounds but during the final weigh in I registered 134 pounds. I was so exhausted. I felt dehydrated,” he added.
Bobby was stripped of his World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas title after exceeding the 130-pound weight limit for his super featherweight fight with Velasquez. He also lost the fight after being disqualified for repeatedly landing low blows on his opponent.
Velasquez was awarded the WBC Continental Americas super featherweight title after beating the younger Pacquiao.
Manny Pacquiao earlier reprimanded his brother for lack of discipline in terms of maintaining his weight, which the younger boxer denied.
Bobby said he has no plans to replace his manager and trainer.
