Since Manny Pacquiao was knocked out with one single punch by Juan Manuel Marquez earlier this month, ring observers have speculated on if Pacquiao, just turned 34, can once again reign as a champion of the ring.
There have been all kinds of explanations and advices for Pacquiao, such as he must 100% focus totally on boxing and cut out his side endeavors like politics, entertainment, business; he must return to being a real Catholic and wear the Rosary to the ring and again do the sign of the Cross, also he should consider replacing long-time trainer Freddie Roach as his style may be too predictable and one-dimensional now.
For this dilemma I decided to ask the foremost boxing expert in the world today, the World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko, how he sees “the broken man” Manny Pacquiao coming back from this devastating knockout loss to the 39-year-old Mexican Marquez? Can Pacquiao do it, will he?
The WBO/WBA/IBF/Ring Magazine Heavyweight champion offered a very simple answer.
“Nobody knows it, but Manny,” responded Klitschko, who has himself overcome three stoppage losses – to Ross Purrity, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster – to become one of the most dominant champions in heavyweight history.
