Juan Manuel Marquez KO 6 Manny Pacquiao

Juan Manuel Marquez stunned Manny Pacquiao and the boxing world with a dramatic one-punch knockout of Manny Pacquiao moments ago at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, as seen live on HBO when he caught the Filipino star with a home-run KO counter punch in the final moments of Round 6. Pacquiao never saw the punch coming and it put the Filipino down and out face first on the canvass. It was a thrilling fight while it lasted. Both men were cautious out of the gate in Round 1 with Pacquiao playing the aggressor with a lot of bounce in his step. Things opened up in the third when Marquez, for the first time in three fights, dropped Pacquiao with a big lead straight right hand. Pacuqiao got up and looked to have hits wits about him as the fighters began to trade a lot more to get the fans going wild.

Things slowed a tad in the fourth as both men went back to attacking with calculated caution.

It didn?t take long for things to heat up again as Manny Pacquiao started to sit down on his punches in the fifth and caught Marquez hard with a minute to go in the stanza. A straight left hand had the Mexican fighter graze the canvas with his glove. Marquez got up and was dangerous in spots but Manny rocked him again in the closing moments and almost dropped him again.

The barrage left Marquez with a very bloody nose as was seen between rounds.

In Round 6 Pacquiao continued to press Marquez and seemed to have him stunned a few times until the final moment of the round. Marquez came forward as Pacquiao was on the ropes and threw a looping wrecking ball of a right hand that decked Pacquiao hard. He was out cold face first on the canvass.

The bout was waived off without a count.

It was a dramatic ending to their epic four fight series that gave Marquez his first win against Pacquiao, in dramatic fashion.
