WORLD Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation featherweight monarch Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez is feeling “very strong” in training camp as he girds for the biggest battle of his life on May 8 against Ring Magazine featherweight king Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.
Marquez (42-2, 33 KO’s) has been training at the Volcan Nevado de Toluca, some 12,800 feet above sea level where he runs eight kilometers in the morning and works out at an improvised gym in the area.
After his morning runs, he goes back to the Romanza Gym in Mexico City where he trains alongside Melchor Cob Castro under trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain. Castro is a southpaw Mexican who will challenge compatriot Jorge Arce for the WBC 108-lbs title on April 24 in Chiapas, Mexico.
