Thomas Paine wrote,”Attempting to debate with a person who has abandoned reason is like giving medicine to the dead.” It seems Floyd Mayweather, Jr has abandoned reason in favor of raw (and negative) emotions when it comes to his former friend 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson).
This past weekend, the undefeated boxer continued to take his 50 Cent bashing to Twitter in an attempt to publicly embarrass Mr. Curtis Jackson. Posting a graph of the rapper’s declining album sales is one way to do it. Posting the tagline “Got Rich – Stopped Trying” probably does it too. In addition, Mayweather posted a photo of 50 Cent holding a wad of cash, to which the boxer Tweeted “Hold my money F*** Boy”. View slideshow: Mayweather 50 Cent Feud
On 50 Cent’s Twitter account, the rap mogul reminded followers that Mayweather physically assaults women: “he is a woman beater you ok to endorse that?”

The personal feud stems from disagreement over business matters. Curtis Jackson, in a proposed 50-50 partnership with the boxer through TMT Promotions, was gaining greater management and marketing control over the Mayweather enterprise. That move threatened to cut out Al Haymon and Leonard Ellerbe out of the picture. In the end, Mayweather decided to stick it out with his longtime business manager (Haymon) which necessitated reneging on promises and financial commitments previously made to 50 Cent.
In an interview on New York’s Power 105 radio station several weeks ago, 50 Cent said that he provided the funds that enabled Mayweather to offer a $40 million guarantee to Manny Pacquiao in order to secure boxing’s megafight. (Video)
What now? 50 Cent is taking his small stable of fighters to rival promotional company Top Rank, home of Pacquiao. On the flip side, Mayweather just announced that he is collaborating with Beats by Dre on a “Money Team” headphone line. That product competes with 50 Cent’s SMS Audio company.
“Got Rich – Stopped Trying.” Whether or not you like Floyd, you gotta admit that was a good one.
