Earlier today at the Manhattan Beach Marriott in Southern California, IBF/WBO junior featherweight champion Nonito Donaire weighed in ahead of his clash with former WBC champion Toshiaki Nishioka.
Stepping onto the scales first, Donaire came in weighing 121.6 pounds. Moments later and Nishioka could be found coming in at 121.8 pounds.
If anyone was expected any kind of tension between the two fighters during their stare down, they were surely disappointed. After all, the lead up to this fight has seen each man have nothing truly negative to say towards the other.
However, the lack of fire at today?s weigh-in surely won?t tell the whole story of how tomorrow night?s HBO-televised duel will play out inside of the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
Both fighters have a calculated style yet each man has shown himself to be very much a sharpshooter when the time calls for it. Expect some drama on Saturday.
