WBC Silver minimumweight champion Denver “The Excitement” Cuello is set to defend his title in Mexico City on September 22nd against either of two Mexicans in Ivan Meneses or Armando Torres.
“It really doesn’t matter. I’m just happy and thankful to God and my manager that I have another fight coming. I’m ready for either of them,” Cuello said regarding his preferred next opponent. Cuello is currently hard at work training with manager/ trainer Aljoe Jaro at the Jaro Boxing Gym in Binangonan, Rizal.
The fight serves as a “stay busy” fight for Cuello, who is patiently waiting the winner of the WBC minimumweight title fight in China on Oct. 27th between Xiong Zhao Zong and Javier Martinez. Cuello has become a fan favorite in Mexico after scoring three sensational KO wins there in the last 12 months.
