Light flyweight Maricris Igam of Puerto Princesa beat Japanese Madoka Wada 5-4, in the second round. She will fight Vietnam?s Nguyen Thi Luong in the finals.
Another Filipina, Irish Magno ripped Vietnam?s Trinh Thi Dem Kieu to make it to the finals of the flyweight division. She will next battle Pin Meng Chieh of Taipei for the gold medal.
In the men?s division, 18-year old Rogen Ladon won over another Vietnamese, Huynh Ngoc Tan, 11-6, to enter the finals. He will next battle Japan?s Kenshiro Teraji.
Bukidnon?s Mario Fernandez whacked Taipei?s Lin Sheng Lin 19-5, in the bantamweight division to arrange a championship match against Aboriginal Taiwanese Lin Yu Che.
Joel Bacho of Mandaluyong made it a clean semifinals sweep for the Filipinos with a 20-12 victory over Su Chin-Fa, an aboriginal Taiwanese. He will face a formidable opponent in the finals in the person of Japanese Syuchihiro Yoshino.
