Will Mayweather Vs- Pacquiao happen, if it does what will happen in the ring?

It?s looking mighty bleak that a mega-fight between undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will ever take place, but that?s not going to prevent fans and media from speculating who would walk away the winner.

There was much to get excited about if they actually stepped into the ring. First off, Pacquiao?s a global figure with mass appeal, and is a nice guy.

Mayweather says what?s on his mind, doesn?t care what anyone thinks, and likes to wear the black hat.

If there was a measure for ego, Mayweather?s would be off the charts. There?s a reason he?s called ?Money? and ?Pretty Boy.?

That said, there was a time when this reporter favored the Pac-Man, and even dismissing his last bout against Timothy Bradley Jr., in which he lost a hotly-debated split decision, Pacquiao hasn?t been the same fighter since that night in May of 2009 at the MGM Grand when he flattened Ricky Hatton in the second round.

Looking at Pacquiao?s recent clashes against Juan Manuel Marquez (majority decision) and Shane Mosley (unanimous decison), they?ve been lackluster.

Maybe it?s Pacquiao?s age (33) or his new-found religion, but there?s something missing, and it?s evident in the number of punches he used to throw in a round (about 100) compared to his last few fights.

Mayweather was recently released from a Las Vegas jail after pleading guilty to a domestic violence rap. One can only hope he?s found salvation.

It would be safe to say Mayweather and Pacquiao are easily the two best boxers of this or any generation, but as each day passes, the likelihood they see each other goes by the wayside. And that?s too bad.

The saga leading up to a possible Pacquiao vs Mayweather bout is so draining. Things seem to change on a dime. Now with the Creation of new promotional company ?TMT Promotions? licensed under 50 cent, it looks like the dream may come true. While we all hope the Political BS is now behind us, hopefully the only thing we need to be concered with is their performance in the ring. The last few Pacquiao fights have shown anything but the dominant performance which we have all come accustomed to. On the other side, Mayweather has stepped up and taken on a few more risks then we all think Mayweather would like. While Mayweather has stepped up, Pacquiao has stepped down. The ability to think that Pacquiao could give Mayweather his first lose is quickly diminishing. Pacquiao?s foot work has slowed and punching power has diminished. I think Floyd may easily out class, frustrate and even KO Pacquiao at this point. Don?t get me wrong, anything could happen with these two in the ring. I just think Mayweather is still fresh and has to desire and ability to prove Pacquiao fans wrong about him not wanting this fight to happen. So lets get it done. Spring of 2013 here we come.
