8CountNews has been saying this from the get go, Lamont Peterson is no cheater. We had Lamon’t personal physician, and Barry Hunter both on our Podcast show a few days after the positive test results were announced. Peterson’s doctor explained to the world that Lamont was taking testosterone in order to treat a health condition, NOT for any advantage in the boxing ring. The doctor clearly explained that Lamont’s normal testosterone levels were extremely lower than that of a normal person’s level. He gave Lamont enough testosterone in order to bring his levels up to everybody else?s level.
Of course the witch hunt was on after the news came out that Peterson tested positive. It’s easy to sit on the sideline’s and shoot your fat mouths off without knowing or even wanting to know the facts. UK press went crazy calling Peterson a cheater, referring to him as “Lamont Cheaterson” in some cases. American fans, and some writers immediately threw Peterson under the bus.
So now the IBF concluded after reviewing the medical records and listening to doctors connected to Peterson that he can keep his IBF title that he so rightfully earned. Thankfully, the IBF is on the right side of history on this one.
Peterson is a class act, and so is his mentor and coach/manager Barry Hunter. I’m glad that once all of the facts got out there that the correct decision was made. Peterson’s reputation should immediately be restored to what it was before all of this garbage came out that accused him of cheating.
Shame on all of those on Facebook, Twitter, boxing forums, and websites that degraded this young man without first hearing his side of the story.
