With his next fight already set for October 13th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California against Toshiaki Nishioka, WBO & IBF super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire, Jr. is working double time in Manila to finish shooting his movie, “Ang Palad Magbuot”, a Visayan film and remake of the late great, former jr. lightweight champion, Gabriel “Flash” Elorde’s movie with “The Queen of Visayan Movies” Gloria Sevilla. Donaire is serious about his venture into acting, and is making sure he leaves no stone unturned to ensure the film’s success. Work is work, and being the consummate pro and perfectionist that he is, Donaire has set everything aside and even went on to a scheduled shoot despite it being on the day of his 4th year wedding anniversary (Aug. 8) with his wife Rachel.
Ironically, the scene he had to tape was one wherein he proposes to his on-screen leading lady, played by lovely Davaoena Krissel Valdez, who was also the first runner-up on ABS-CBN’s hit talent search show “Star Power”.

SO… Donaire gets to propose and romance a beautiful film siren on camera, then come home to romance and celebrate his anniversary with his real life beautiful siren of a wife. Raise your hand if you feel sorry for the guy. Not I.
