Manny Pacquiao’s next fight in November could be a rematch with Timothy Bradley.
The Philippine Star quoted Pacquiao’s legal adviser, Franklin Gacal, as saying “I think it’s Bradley,” when asked about Pacquiao’s decision regarding his next fight, scheduled for Nov. 10.
Pacquiao, a congressman in the Philippines, is scheduled to meet this week with Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, who flew to the island country Tuesday to meet with his meal ticket.
Arum and Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) will sit down soon to make their decision, although Arum has said it is Pacquiao and Pacquiao alone who will make the decision.
“There’s a score to settle with Bradley,” Gacal told the Star, referring to their first fight on June 9 in Las Vegas. Though most every scribe at ringside, and even a panel of judges from the World Boxing Organization, which sanctioned the fight, felt that Pacquiao had won, Bradley came away with a stunning and highly controversial split decision victory. “It’s August. If he fights in November, he has to start training next month.”
Several possibilities have been discussed for Pacquiao’s next fight, including Bradley (29-0, 12 KOs), Juan Manuel Marquez, who Pacquiao has defeated twice and fought to a draw a third time, and a rematch with Miguel Cotto, who Pacquiao defeated by 12th-round TKO in November 2009.
