Floyd Mayweather Jr. gets a fresh start and fresh air on Friday morning.
That’s when “Money,” having done the crime and then the time, walks free from the Las Vegas hoosegow.
I’d like to see Mayweather’s fresh start also turn into a fresh start for Manny Pacquiao.
And I believe it can be for the super rivals.

Now, speaking of fresh starts, is the optimum time for Fitty to sit down with either Bob Arum or Todd duBoef, and make the Mayweather-Pacquiao super bout for next May.
Pacquiao would be foolish to take on Juan Manuel Marquez for a fourth time. And who can see Pacman getting stoked for a rematch with Timothy Bradley?
Let Mayweather and Pacquiao sit idle for the remainder of 2012 and then kick off the biggest promotion of all time in, let’s say, February of 2013.
Mayweather has no scintillating opponent on his agenda. Neither does Pacquiao. As I’ve opined before, I think Megamanny will never perform better than he already has against either Juan Ma or Bradley.
If there is fistic fire still burning inside Pacquiao, it seems to be driven by only one person and that is his biggest career challenge.
Pacquiao should try to climb his Mt. Olympus, to defy the odds and beat the Unbeaten One with a $50 million purse attached.
I strongly believe that, while Mayweather will be fighting two and maybe three years from now, that Pacquiao can be one and done.
If Pacquiao performs credibly but loses to Money, they can still have a lucrative rematch.
If he loses and disappoints, so bleeping what?
Manny can abandon the ring and concentrate on politics.
Mayweather and Pacquiao need to stop passing the buck.
They need a push from Half A Buck, from Cincuenta Centavos.
All the other guys didn’t get it done in all this time.
Maybe Fitty can, maybe he can make himself, Manny and Floyd even richer than they are now.
Mayweather-Pacquiao remains the legacy fight, the one that the public is still hot to trot for.
Fresh starts. Fresh air. Fresh ideas from 50 Cent?
Maybe Curtis Jackson can fill the void. 50 Cent may be a big idea man and not a nickel-dime guy.
