The bravado of Manny Pacquiao appears to be rubbing off on ?Trainer of the Year? Freddie Roach.
The wily mentor of World Boxing Association/International Boxing Federation featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez in Ignacio Beristain had earlier warned Pacquiao not to get carried away with all the hype after his 11th-round demolition of legendary Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera.
But Roach, after an awesome workout by Pacquiao, said: ?If he wants to fight, we?ll fight and if he wants to box, we?ll be ready for that, too. Manny is a complete fighter and he?ll handle whatever happens in there.?
Roach made his comments after reporter Joe Rein of East Side Boxing noted that fighters, trainers and ringsiders at Roach?s Wild Card Gym were ?on their feet applauding? when Pacquiao finished his workout.
