MANILA, Philippines ? Boxing world?s newest sensation Nonito ?The Flash? Donaire will have his hands full during his stay in the country in the next three weeks. This time, it is not about working extremely hard at a training camp for his next bout neither taking a long break with his family and close friends.
During his return, Donaire said, he is open to showbiz stints, like his boxing hero Manny Pacquiao.
He said he is set to start taping a Visayan movie, which is his first time to stand in in front of a movie camera.
?I will do this movie to promote Visayan films,? he said.
Donaire arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 early Monday morning onboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR 103.
He took home a well-earned and solid win against South African Jeffrey Mathebula, whom he defeated by unanimous decision in California early this month. Donaire grabbed the IBF super bantamweight title from Mathebula in a match that further solidified his status as ?The Flash.?
He racked up his 28th straight win.
At the airport, Donaire thanked all the people who supported him in his fight against the South African boxer.
He was welcomed by fans who gathered at the NAIA although his arrival was much less festive.
As the usual scene, the crowd greeted him at the airport.
Donaire said he hopes to get back to training soon to prepare for his next bout on October, this year. He is referring to his upcoming opponent Mexican boxer Jorge Arce, which would probably be held in Los Angeles or Texas in the United States (US).
But before returning to the US to resume training, Donaire said he is inclined to finish the filming of his movie.
He, however, did not further elaborate on the details about his movie.
