Danny Garcia KO 4 Amir Khan
Reigning WBC light welterweight champion Danny ?Swift? Garcia made good on his word to shock the world with a dominating knockout victory over Amir Khan moments ago at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas as seen live on HBO. Khan came out quickly using his hand speed trying to take the fight to Garcia in the early going. The British star used his jab early and often taking the first two rounds in style. In the closing moments of Round 3 the tide turned suddenly and violently when Garcia landed a counter left hook that stretched Khan right out stiff on the canvass. It was shades of Breidis Prescott for Khan who was in all kinds of trouble but was saved by the bell. The minute between rounds did little to steady Khan?s missing legs and after reeling all around the ring for a minute or so in Round 4 Garcia decked him again. The referee had seen enough and waived the bout off at the 2:28 mark of the fourth giving Danny Garcia the dramatic and star making KO victory. The win unified the WBC and WBA 140-pound titles for Garcia and improved him to 24-0 (15 KOs) while Khan falls to 26-3 (18 KOs).
