Moments ago, inside of the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, junior welterweight champions Amir Khan and Danny Garcia weighed in ahead of their bout tomorrow night. Khan, the reinstated WBA champion at 140 pounds, meets Garcia, the brash and brazen WBC champion from Philadelphia in an HBO showcase.
At the weigh-in there wasn?t quite as much trash talk from either side, as it?s obvious that the time for talking is over with the fight roughly 24 hours away. Both men came in at 139 pounds and they both were ripped and full of confidence. Khan-Garcia is an intriguing clash that will shift the landscape of the junior welterweight class. If successful, Khan could be in line for an eventual crack at Floyd Mayweather if he chooses to move up to 147 pounds while Garcia is hoping this is just another step towards cleaning out his division.
