JUAN Manuel Marquez, who, in 2004 survived three first round knockdowns to salvage a draw with Manny Pacquiao, does not think Erik Morales stands a chance against the Filipino bomber when they square off a third time on Nov. 18 in Las Vegas.
Marquez, the World Boxing Organziation (WBO) interim featherweight title-holder, said Pacquiao will be too strong and fast for “El Terrible.”
“I feel that Manny Pacquiao will be victorious over Morales. It is Manny’s time now. It is his time. He is in his prime,” Marquez told SecondOut.com.
“He is very strong and very fast. I feel that it his night and he will be the victor,” added the crafty Marquez, who is dying to have a rematch with Pacquiao ever since that thrilling draw.
Marquez is scheduled to fight Filipino challenger Jimrex Jaca for his WBO featherweight title on Oct. 21 in El Paso, Texas. A victory by the Mexican here will set him up to a much-awaited match with Scott Harrison.
Should be hurdle both assignments, Marquez desires to make is a second time with Pacquiao.
The southpaw Pacquiao, who hails from General Santos City, uis is now in Los Angeles preparing for a big battle with Morales.
It was not, however, mentioned on what weight category Marquez will fight Pacquiao, who is now campaigning in the super featherweight.
The Pacquiao-Marquez fight in 2004 was for the Mexican’s IBF and WBA featherweight crowns.
Marquez would later lost both crowns.
