Similar to many other professional fighters, martial arts legend and actor Bruce Lee has been a major influence to WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Jr.’s career. “I love Bruce Lee. I’ve read a lot about him in books, articles and I’m a big fan of his,” Donaire told me in one of our candid conversations. “I like his philosophies and how he approaches life and martial arts. I’m the same way. He has inspired me to keep moving and to keep learning.” Advertisement
To pay tribute to his idol, Donaire will be wearing a “Game of Death” inspired outfit, one of the movies that immortalized Lee in the big screen.
