IT?S been a week since Manny Pacquiao suffered that bitter ?loss? at the hands of the exceedingly under-matched Timothy Bradley.
Bitter because that ?loss? was not supposed to have happened the way it did.
It was not a loss for Pacquiao in the first place.
It was a farce in the second place.
It was a scam as obnoxious as the fertilizer fix of the Joc-Joc kind.
It was highway robbery that made the idea of stealing the Statue of Liberty a brainchild of a midget, if not an amateur.
Pacquiao was the winner not only in the estimation of many but even in the eyes of the world. Maybe, even in the eyes of God.
But man is used to authoring follies since time immemorial, that?s why humankind oftentimes gets into trouble that, at times, it angers God no end. For, yes, God also gets irked, as when Jesus Christ turned the tables upside down when he saw hawkers transform the ?House of My Father?? the Temple of Worship?into a virtual House of Sin.
Two judges saw Bradley the winner in what is now called ?The Shock of The Century? because their verdict nullified the scorecard of the third judge, which reflected the truthful outcome of the bout: Pacquiao by unanimous decision.
But split decision they called it.
However, to the knowledgeable such as the peoples of the world, it was called the ?spit decision.?
You spit at it because it stank.
You spit at it because it smelled of skunk.
You spit at it because it sure came from satan.
Others called it ?The Upset of The Decade.?
Oops, I beg your pardon?
It was ?The Unseat of The Decade.?
Even before the bell sounded to start the fight?no, the farce?the bout appeared bound to unseat Pacquiao as the WBO world welterweight king.
Murder in Las Vegas, I tell you.
For how explain the ludicrousness of the two pro-Bradley judges? decision giving Pacquiao only five rounds in the 12-round fight?
But on second thought, I guess Bradley was right all along. A rematch has long been set even before the June 10 fight was inked.
Did I get the rematch date right: Nov. 11 (PH Time)?
Enlighten me, please.
