Lady Gaga is Gaga for Manny Pacquiao. In a recent tweet, the music star tweeted her support for Pacquiao.
Lady Gaga tweeted that she only watches our sport because of Pacquiao and in terms of who is the best boxer on the planet, she sides with the Pacman.
Lady Gaga tweeted: “I only watch boxing because of Manny Pacquiao and #MannyPacquiaoIsStillTheWorldsBestBoxer! #RIPBoxing”
Seriously, I am very cool with her opinions. A lot of people feel the way she does. And let’s face it, Pacquiao is awesome. But…
My guess is she has never heard of Floyd Mayweather? He is actually ranked the best in the world right now. And speaking of Lady Gaga, Mayweather and Pacquiao… Remember not too long ago when Mayweather taunted Pacquiao by claiming he would tune in to a Lady Gaga concert instead of watching the Pacquiao’s fight on SHOWTIME (rival network to HBO) against Shane Mosley that aired on the same night as Gaga’s HBO special? Mayweather tweeted: “Everyone watch Lady Gaga tonight on the best network in the world, HBO.”
I am happy that Lady Gaga has some love for Pacquiao (that is super cool)… but don’t diss the whole sport. Boxing Fans (not just Pacquiao fans) buy music. And if Pacquiao is the only fighter she watches, then her statement of him being the best, holds no water. Not to mention, her hash tag of RIP BOXING?! To that I say, Dear Lady Gaga, long before you came along, there was Boxing and long after you are gone… it will still be around. You get the Karma you buy… so she shouldn’t be upset when and if #RIPLadyGaga is tweeted in regards to music career.
Do not get me wrong… I wish Lady Gaga the best and continued success, and as much as I love watching Pacquiao… there is just a hell of a lot more to our sport than just him or Mayweather. We have plently of great talent and many great reasons to watch the sport. Stay neutral and enjoy what the sport has to offer. It is like when we turn on the radio… there is a lot of great musical talent out there, and it’s cool to pick a favorite… but limiting yourself to that one choice… now that would suck and become boring really quickly.
