Weep no more for Manny Pacquiao. Time to stop the crying jag over that ridiculous split decision victory for still “technically unbeaten” Tim Bradley. Let’s put this debacle in the rear view mirror and tell the cold, hard truth about the 33 year old Pacman and his way forward in boxing. And the truth about Megamanny’s fistic future is: 1. POWER FAILURE: How does a guy who can’t hurt and finish the always mobile Bradley hurt or finish the slicker, quicker Floyd Mayweather Jr. Funny thing about “Money” being confined to a small jail cell because that might be only place Pacquiao could beat Mayweather, either there or in a phone booth. 2. THIRTY SECOND SHOESHINES INEFFECTIVE: Manny put some flourishing touches into the final 30 seconds of nearly every round but judges mainly did not buy the shoeshine act. Older fighters use this cosmetic ruse, Sugar Ray Leonard and before him, Muhammad Ali, mastered this art. 3. BRADLEY ONLY DOES BETTER IN NOVEMBER 10 REMATCH: He remains younger, hungrier and those heavy boos inside the MGM Grand Garden will be ringing in the American’s eardrums from now until he has a chance to drown them out. Bradley may have been slightly in awe of legendary Pinoy Idol, no more. 4. SMALL POTATOES BUT: When will Bossmanny put an end to the egotistical, childish feuding of his cornerman? Latest nursery school argument between Alex Ariza and Buboy Fernandez as to who belongs on apron is more tiresome nonsense. 5. ‘GOD WILLING’ PACQUIAO SHOULD CONSIDER MAYWEATHER FIGHT NEXT AND/OR RETIREMENT: Sure, Manny came off a gracious loser to Bradley but you know the old line. Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser. If Pacquiao wants to concentrate on religion and politics, maybe that’s his best move. I just don’t see the fire of desire burning in his belly any longer and why should it when he all the worldly wealth anyone can imagine. I could be wrong even though I scored it 1191-109 for Pacman, 11-1 in rounds. I was right on with that scoring but I could be wrong about the way forward. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao should seriously consider getting together for a November fight. A second loss to Bradley all but cripples that bonanza and who’s to say Mayweather couldn’t be the victim of lousy judging himself?
