“Bradley has a big chance in beating Manny”
Las Vegas, NV – I caught up with Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Jr. to get his invaluable thoughts regarding Timothy Bradley, Jr.’s chances of dethroning eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.
Donaire, who has a title-unification bout coming up on July 7 against IBF super bantamweight champion Jeffrey Mthabula, told me that Bradley has the ability to make things “difficult” for Pacquiao, and that he has a real shot at winning, contrary to what some ‘expert’ opinions that Bradley would easily succumb by KO in the earlier rounds. “It depends how hungry Manny is, and if Bradley is intimidated or not. That’s how he’ll (Bradley) fight better if he’s not intimidated at all,” Donaire told me.
“Manny will always have his speed and power, and that’s his ‘go-to’ things to get the advantage in the fight, but Timmy can make things rough,” Donaire added.
Compared to his recent opponents, Donaire thinks Bradley has a real chance of upsetting Pacquiao. “Timmy is young. Of all the guys Manny has fought recently, except Marquez who has proven himself that he can compete with Manny in every level, definitely, Timothy Bradley, the younger guy, hungry, and has a lot of pride in himself, has a real chance of beating Manny if he pushes himself,” said Donaire.
Bradley is almost a 1-4 underdog in the betting odds here in Las Vegas.
