The winner of the upcoming Manny Pacquiao-Juan Marquez bout in May, will get the biggest prize of all, a showdown with WBC Super-Featherweight champion Erik Morales.
Although Morales has a slated unification match against IBF champ Carlos Hernandez, he is well aware that upon winning his fight with Hernadez, HBO wants to match him against the winner of Pacquiao-Marquez.
The bigger of the two scenarios would likely be Pacquiao-Morales, mainly due to the trash talking Morales did towards Marco Antonio Barrera over how Barrera let Pacquiao take him apart.
Morales feels that he is too strong for both Marquez and Pacquiao and if they sign to fight him, they will only get overpowered like Paulie Ayala did against Morales.
Although there is money in a Morales bout against Marquez or Pacquiao, HBO execs would rather see Pacquiao take the fight in order to setup a Morales superfight. The feeling is Pacquiao is the more attractive name to put up against Morales on pay per view.
