Earlier today in Las Vegas, Nevada, WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was spotted at the Top Rank Gym putting in work ahead of his June 16th bout with once-beaten Andy Lee.
Chavez defends his belt against the rugged Irishman at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas and there is a lot of intrigue as to what will be in store for the champion, win or lose. The world-recognized best middleweight, Sergio Martinez, is eyeing a September duel with the Chavez-Lee winner but there may be some reluctance coming from the Mexican star?s promoter Bob Arum. Another interesting note that has people buzzing is the fact that Chavez no longer appears to be working with trainer Freddie Roach. At the moment Roach is in Los Angeles training Manny Pacquiao at the Wild Card Boxing Club while Chavez has been working with his father Julio Sr.
